Painting of the French Impressionists of the 1860s – 1880s: historical and cultural aspect

Abstract

The qualification work examines the impact of historical and social changes in late 19th century France on the development of Impressionism. The paper shows how political transformations, urbanization and technological progress contributed to the emergence of Impressionism as a revolutionary artistic movement. It is established that Impressionism had a significant impact on subsequent generations of artists, changing the perception and reflection of art in the world. The work analyses the main techniques and motifs of the Impressionists.
